New Cape Town flight from PMB Airport commences
Category General News
The new scheduled flight to Cape Town took off this morning at 7 am, signalling Pietermaritzburg’s growing importance as a regional airport. The inaugural SA Airlink flight - in a 37-seater Embraer ERJ135 jet aircraft - had 19 passengers making the trip, according to Mazwi Mngwengwe. “The flight caused great excitement, and we’re very pleased with the interest at this early stage,” he said. The daily flight of just over two hours’ duration departs for Cape Town at 7 am and returns at 5.35 pm. A key attraction of the new flight schedule is the convenience for travelers in the city and surrounds, including Cato Ridge, Hillcrest, Kloof and Pinetown, an airport that is easily accessible, less congested, with easy parking, quick boarding and disembarking. One-way ticket prices start at ZAR1 380 and depends on availability, when a ticket is booked, and if any other incentives apply.
